This story is about eighteen year old Kasta, a young warrior who has spent her life in the service of her despised uncle, King Randa of the Middluns. That is until she meets Po, a young man who will enable her to question her life and help her find herself.
In the world that she lives in, there are people known as graced, this means that they have a special power/ ability. This can be determined first by their eye colur, as those who are Graced have two different eye colours. Kasta has one blue eye and one green eye, and is thought to have the grace of killing, a grace that no one would envy. Throughout the course of this book Kasta learns to accept herself, and understand that she is more than a weapon, that she is a person with rights, emotions and dreams.
